Background and Credentials
Dr. James Richards DDS was raised in Southwest Oklahoma in a farming/ ranching community. He graduated Weaver High School in 1964 with seven other "baby boomers." He attended Oklahoma Baptist University, receiving his degree in music in 1968. After a short time at Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma, Dr Richards moved to Dallas in 1970.While working as a sales associate in a music store he met his wife, Beth. It was a whirlwind courtship that some said wouldn't last; but it has for 53 years!
Together they have three adult children, Anne, Michael, and Jennifer. When Beth decided to straighten her teeth Dr. Richards became interested in dentistry and left the music scene. Dr. Richards was accepted at Baylor College of Dentistry ( now Texas A&M School of Dentistry) and graduated in 1980. After several years as a solo practitioner, he joined David J Hageman, DDS where he has worked for 26 years as a senior associate.
Dr. Richards enjoys movies with depth and good dialogue not just "CGI and pyrotechnics." He can often be found wearing a pair of cowboy boots from his collection. Dr. Richards enjoys cuisines from all over the world and taking road trips. Dr. Richards is committed to making a personal connection with each patient he sees, and he delights in providing quality care. Many of his patients are now considered his extended family.
